HISTORY OF LTS LOVE OUTREACH
The Louis T. Shelton Love Outreach Ministry is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to work toward positive changes in the community. Our mission is to meet the needs of marginalized populations by helping them to improve their standard of living and guiding them to paths of success. We do this by meeting the needs of community through a growing number of programs such as:
- Annual Back to School Giveaway – Free backpacks filled with school supplies are provided to school aged children in the community. The only criteria are that the child must be present to receive a book bag.
- Annual Scholarship Event – LTS provides a monetary scholarship to deserving college bound high school graduates with a GPA of 2.5 or better
- YaYa’s Angeles – LTS provides hats, scarves and gloves to elementary schools children.
The Louis T. Shelton Love Outreach Ministry was organized in 2009 by members of the Union Tabernacle M. B. Church who wanted to expand the social outreach mission of the church. Named after the previous pastor of Union Tabernacle, Rev. Dr. Louis T. Shelton, LTS Love Outreach Ministry seeks to apply a holistic approach to social services, not only meeting physical needs but mental and spiritual needs as well. We offer services to a wide range of people regardless of race, age, or socio-economic status.
We are pleased with the prospect of partnering with other organizations to provide better and viable outcomes for the St. Louis community.
